「はやぶさリンク」:22日の運用、データの一部をダウンロード

 JAXA広報からの午後6時47分付けメールによると、はやぶさは三軸制御をはじめとした姿勢の復旧に手間取り、22日の臼田局からの運用は搭載機器からのデータ取得のみとなった。

 データ解析の結果は、明日23日夕方以降に、ホームページに掲載される。
 また、2回目のタッチダウンを25日(タッチダウン時刻は26日早朝となる)に行うか否かは、24日夕方に公表するとのこと。

 According to JAXA Public relations, Hayabusa continued to establish attitude control in 22th Nov. JST.

Today, Operaters got some data from Hayabusa.
They will publish the result of analizing the data, in 23th evening JST, by JAXA webpage.
Go/No go decision to the second attempt will publish in 24th evening JST.


 11月21日付で、的川泰宣教授による、第一回着陸の経緯をまとめた文章が公開されている。

「はやぶさ」88万人の「星の王子さま」たちへ

 英訳はされていないようないようだ。本来英語でも公開すべき文章と思うのだが、私にはそこまで手が回らない。どなたかボランティアで、翻訳してもらえないだろうか。

今日のはやぶさの表示が
「※航法カメラで小惑星イトカワを捕捉しました。」に変わっているのを確認しました。
それは、これなんらかの理由で一度目標を見失って変な所に飛んで行ってしまったのに、再度目標を捕らえて接近しているってことですよね。
「宇宙空間を自由自在に飛んでいる」って言う表現は言いすぎですか?

 あ、航法カメラで小惑星イトカワを捕捉ということは、おそらく三軸姿勢が確立していますね。

 公開したばかりだったので取り急ぎ一部を書き直しました。

"Hayabusa" - Toward the 880,000 "Star Prince"s

Japanese spacecraft "Hayabusa" had a campaign "Let's Fly to Meet Your 'Star Prince' " before the launch (May ,

2003). No less than "880,000 people from 149 countries" were joined to this program , and their names were engraved

to the softball-sized target marker.

In Nov.20 2005 , that target marker was discharged from "Hayabusa" as a pilot milestone to guide the objected point

of surface , and successfully reached to the asteroid Itokawa . First , I report this with joy.

Previous night , Nov.19 about 21 o'clock , "Hayabusa" started the descent from 1km altitude. Compared with two

times past rehearsal , his descending was in wonderfully favorable condition , apart 300 million km from the Earth.

His speed was controlled in 4cm/sec. Yes , it was a victory of navigation control by "Hayabusa" team , overcome

this hard some months with the disorder of two reaction wheel.

First , we combined rest one reaction wheel with gas-jet , but slight drift was occured by each jet. The drift was

integrated by time , affects the orbit. So , we considered how to minimize the effect of drift , both in ground and

orbit carefully. It was tested and verified in the rehearsal. In this time , it made great success.

Nov. 20 4:30 AM. Altitude 450m. Controlled on the line of Earth and center of the shape of Itokawa , "Hayabusa"

started to approach Itokawa with acceleration up to 10cm/sec . Before 5 o'clock , including the "GO" decision of

project manager Junichirou Kawaguchi based on the progress till then , "Hayabusa" went toward the surface of

Itokawa with outstanding control of some mm velocity drift per one sec. That accuracy was almost like the steps of

ants.

5:46 , altitude 54m. Wire was cut, which connectted target marker including member list who wish to meet the "Star

Prince" , to the bottom of "Hayabusa". "Hayabusa" continued the descent with 10cm/sec. , then reached the altitude

40m after 140second. He slowed down to 4cm/sec. Target marker was free-falled to the surface of Itokawa. Flash bulb

ilminate it from "Hayabusa". This marker separation test was executed in past rehearsal , but self-controlled image

pick-up and guidance of "Hayabusa" to the direction of marker was the first trial. Like this accurate guidance ,

member list who wish to meet the "Star Prince" was delivered to Itokawa after 6 minutes.

5:47. Altitude of "Hayabusa" was 35m. From now on , there is unknown world for "Hayabusa" team. Using near-distance

Laser altimeter (LRF : Laser Range Finder) , he continued the descent. LIDER is no longer useful , which made great

work by that period. LRF sensing itself was tested in the rehearsal , but descent under the control of LRF was the

first trial. Altitude 25m. Hovering with LRF. It was also first.

5:55. "Altitude 17m!" -- Loud voice sounded in the control room. 6 o'clock. "Hayabusa" entered to the self control

mode to make one's axis vertical to the surface geographical feature of Itokawa. Communication between Goldstone

station and "Hayabusa" was already shifted to the beacon mode with LGA(Low gain antenna) , which only use

subcarrier without modulation. Altitude was confirmed by the doppler effect data .

"We did it! It is landing!" Everybody in the room sure the success. Sampler hone of "Hayabusa" will launch the

bullet of diameter 10mm , weight 5g to the surface of Itokawa, then catch the dust and the pieces of rock with

capsule , and will rise after one second. So programmed.

But , at the end of everything , the devil was hidden. Doppler effect data did not indicate the rise when time to

rise. To a contrary , it displayed the endless descend of 2cm/sec. Not known at all what was happened , uncanny

30minutes was passed. Connecting every information , "Hayabusa" seems to continue the drift almost 10m altitude. So

hot surface of Itokawa will cause the disorder of equipments. Project manager Kawaguchi decided. "Make delta-V!"

Force-rise with gas jet by the ground command.

Unfortunately , track from Goldstone station is almost over , and will soon change to the track of Usuda station ,

Nagano. Missing in the critical period of track change is not hopeful. Command to the "Safe-hold for the time

being" was sent by the direction of project manager Kawaguchi. Safe-hold means turn the solar cell panel to the

sun , then spin "Hayabusa". Both were very good countermeasure.

Continuous heat of more than 100 degree from Itokawa may affect the communication amplifier. Beacon mode was

continued between Usuda station. Time has passed , without knowing the condition of "Hayabusa". But , by the

struggle of the engineer of Usuda station , at last connection with MGA(Middle Gain Antenna) was recovered. We had

surprised that "Hayabusa" was entered the safe-hold mode , and seems to be distant from dozens of km from Itokawa.

There is no firm belief whether he landed or not , which will be clear in the future telemeter data. Before that ,

we must recover the three-axis control from safe-hold mode in the Nov. 21 Usuda station operation period. After

this troublesome work , we will start the HGA(High Gain Antenna) data transfer. Then , we will get many precious

data after the period of landing , stored in "Hayabusa". By then , let us wait with calm.

This is the abstract of first landing trial. Target marker , including the wish of 880,000 people to meet the "Star

Prince" living on the small star in the vast universe , did great pilot work. And from now on , it will remain

semipermanently on the asteroid Itokawa as the names of "Star Princes on the star Earth".

"Hayabusa" mission , which makes monumental work on the history of sapce development , is not yet over. Leaded by

the project managed Kawaguchi having motto "Never give up" , team is now continuing hard efforts without resting ,

and hard decision to challenge again to the last gate of landing and sampling after Nov. 25. I feel the genuine

happiness of shareing this impressive period with Japanese young people who is now standing on the top of the world

in the planetary exploration. I want to say 880,000 "Star Princes" the "congratulations" and "thank you".
And , Gambare , "Hayabusa" team!

三軸制御回復は間接材料での推定でしたが、

今朝配信の
日本惑星協会メルマガ:TPS/JメールのYMコラム
"ターゲット・マーカー着地への反響"

これの最後の部分によれば、
三軸制御を取り戻しているということがはっきり書かれていました。
ハイゲインアンテナでデータを取得が出来ているので、現場は解析評価そして運行とさらに大忙しのようですね。

うん、まだやれる。

この松浦氏の記事(「はやぶさリンク」:22日の運用、データの一部をダウンロード)も、jaxaの「はやぶさ関連記事」にはでていませし、もちろん"HayabusaLive"にも。

まったく、なにやってんだか...

いっそのこと、松浦氏か野尻抱介氏が"HayabusaLive"を担当すればめちゃくちゃ面白くなるのにね。


とにかく、jaxaの広報については、なんとなく戦時中の「大本営発表」的なものを感じてしまいます。(うそはついていないので、「大本営発表」は言い過ぎでしょうが...)

本当に、何とかしてほしいですよね。

はじめまして。はやぶさの大ファンです。
jaxaの「はやぶさ」88万人の「星の王子さま」たちへ
を読みました。とても期待して。でも、結局
「ターゲットマーカーは、届いたはずだ、届いたに違いない。計算上届いたことになっているから、届いた宣言をする。」
そう言っている気がしました。誰か、イトカワ表面のターゲットマーカーを見たのでしょうか。その画像があるのでしょうか。多分誰も見ていないものを、届いたことにする、と言っているのだと思います。
名前を刻んでもらった一人として、何だか、あんまりうれしくありません。だまされたような気分です。
今度のタッチダウンで投下されるターゲットマーカーにも、同じ名前が刻んであるのでしょうか。自分の目で、ターゲットーマーカーが届く画像を見たいです。

As far as I know, the name-registration campaign has been called "The Little Prince Campaign" in English, after the novel titled "The Little Prince" by Saint-Exupery.
